Bangkok flower market is a part of the old city. It is located on the sidewalk on Chak Phet Road near Saphan Phut and the Memorial Bridge.
A long time ago a few vendors started to selling flowers on the sidewalk, since more have come, and the market has grown big.
The government can not clear the sidewalks without giving the vendors another place to sell as they have been there for a long time. Pak Khlong Talat has existed in its current form for more than 60 years.
Pak Khlong Talat is open all days 24 hours a day. The busiest time and most of the trade is done before dawn before it gets hot.
Most of the flowers arrive in the very early morning hours.
The first shoppers to buy is local florist the have to fill up their shops before opening flowers for their shops.
Also, the vendors selling flowers in front of the Temples or at the traffic light buy their flowers here.
The flowers come from the area around Bangkok, the Chiang Mai area in the north and even some import from Kunming in China and Holland. The market has mostly cut flowers so if you want pants you better go to Chatuchak market.
Bangkok flower market is mostly made up of stalls on the sidewalk but there are also some shops and is definitely a place worth visiting.
