Thai Stir Fried Vegetables

Thai Stir Fried Vegetables is called Pad Pak Ruam in Thai.

You translate Pad Pak Ruam into Stir Fried Vegetables like this: “Pad” means stir-fried “pak” means vegetables and “ruam” you can translate into mixed.

The dish is very quick and easy to make, and because you can use almost all kind of vegetables you can vary the vegetables you use so the dish never becomes boring.

It is also no must that you need more than one kind of vegetable, it is perfectly ok to make it with only one kind. You can say Stir Fried Vegetables or Pad Pak Ruam as it is called in Thai is a perfect dish to empty the vegetable drawer in your refrigerator.

Pad Pak Ruam is a real favorite of mine. I eat Thai Stir Fried Vegetables very time I have the opportunity. I prefer a plate of Thai Stir Fried Vegetables over rice as a side dish any time.


Thai Stir Fried Vegetables

  • 5 pieces Baby corn
  • 1/2 piece Carrot
  • 1 piece Broccoli
  • 20-25 pieces Snow peas
  • 8-10 pieces Yard long beans
  • 5 gloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp Cooking oil


  • Cut the Baby corn into small oblong pieces.
  • Cut the carrot into slice and cut the slices by half.
  • Take the broccoli apart into small pieces.
  • Cut top and bottom of the snow peas.
  • Cut the yard long beans into 1-2 cm. long pieces.
  • Cut the garlic into small pieces.
  • Prepare the soy sauce.
  • Prepare the suagr.
  • Prepare the sweet soy sauce.
  • Prepare the cooking oil.
  • Heat the the pan, and add oil.
  • Put the garlic on the pan, and stir it till it turn golden.
  • Add the carrots, pour in a little of water and let it simmer until the carrots is done.
  • Add the baby corn and stir.
  • Add the broccoli and stir.
  • Add the yard long beans and stir.
  • Add the baby corn and stir.
  • Season with the soy sauce, the Oyster and the sugar.
  • Arrange it on a platter.
