The Magnetic Samet Nangshe Viewpoint in Phang Nga, Thailand
Viewpoints have a special place in my heart; if I hear about one, I have to visit it;
I will not rest until I have gotten to the top and shoot some pictures. Usually, a good viewpoint also involves a lot of stairs and a strenuous ascent in the baking sun.
Samet Nangshe Viewpoint give two choieses, either you are driven to the top in the back of a pick-up truck or a hike along a steep dirt road.
The trip to the top is an exciting experience in itself.
I am a photographer, not Hemingway, but still, I need the written word to tell the story behind my pictures. So I am always looking for ways to be more productive with the texts so that I can share more pictures.
When I wrote this article at the beginning of 2023, AI was rising, bringing some fun opportunities.
I programmed an AI to write the Breathtaking Samet Nangshe Viewpoint story.
Besides being great for research, AI can also be programmed to write like famous travel writers. So I’ve asked ChatGPT4 to tell the story in the same tone and voice as Ernest Hemingway would have done.
I’ve reviewed and corrected where necessary, it’s fun to go on a trip with Ernest and let him tell the story.

Renting a vehicle is a good bet, though guided tours are also an option.
When you arrive, there’s a small car park at the base. Parking costs about 30 Baht. To reach the viewpoint, you have two choices – a 90 Baht ride on a pick-up truck or a 35-minute uphill trek.
(Note from editor, pay for the ride, the hike in the heat will kill you)
Samet Nangshe Viewpoint is one of Thailand’s gems. It gives a panoramic view of Phang Nga Bay, a sea of limestone islets stunning in their quiet dignity. The sunrise and sunset views are nothing short of a spectacle.
The view behind the viewpoint is of a string of islands and a vast mangrove forest, providing a beautiful contrast to the limestone formations of Phang Nga Bay. At night, the lack of light pollution reveals the majesty of the Milky Way.
Samet Nangshe isn’t just about the viewpoint. Hiking and trekking trails wind through the dense Thai forest. It’s a call to the wild, and it’s an adventure waiting to happen.

Hungry? Head to the Bay View Cafe at the top. This quaint little cafe provides nourishment, and an extended view over the bay, an ideal spot while waiting for the sunrise or sunset.

I’m impressed by how well artificial intelligence can write; It might feel a bit like cheating to use AI to write texts, and it will cost a lot of jobs. But for me, it’s a fun tool to improve my articles and also to learn more about how great writers write.
In the following articles, I will ask more famous writers to help me and tell the story behind my pictures.
