A Phang Nga Bay tour in a speedboat with 20 other tourists.

If you’re planning a trip to Phuket, a Phang Nga Bay tour is a must-see attraction. But what kind of Phang Nga Bay tour to choose is a million-dollar question.

Phang Nga Bay is known for its stunning limestone cliffs, emerald-green waters, and hidden caves waiting to be explored. The bay is easily accessible from Phuket, and many tour companies offer day trips to the area.

One of the most popular attractions in Phang Nga Bay is James Bond Island, which was made famous in the 1974 James Bond movie “The Man with the Golden Gun.” Other popular spots in the area include Koh Panyee, a village built on stilts over the water, and Koh Hong, which features a stunning lagoon that can be explored by canoe.

To make the most of your trip, booking a private tour of the area is a good idea. This will give you the flexibility to customize your itinerary to suit your interests and the freedom to explore at your own pace.

However, there is a significant difference if you take a Phang Nga Bay day trip group tour or hire your own long-tail boat, as I did when I visited James Bond Island.

I like the freedom of not being on a group tour, but I had to try a group tour in a speed i a speed boat.

You can read more about that in the posts below. Read more about my private time in Phang Nga Bay, where I rented a long-tail boat to take me to James Bond Island to see the famous limestone formation. Click here.
